Creative TRAUMA HEALING

(formerly known as Creative Earth Art Therapy)

Art therapist and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner specialised in trauma, depression, anxiety, disability, minority stress and especially the trauma of living as Autistic/ADHDer/Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP) in Singapore.

Each person is like a tree; we reach deep into the earth of our mind and body for grounding and creative resources, while growing upwards towards the sun as we transform and thrive.

OUR APPROACH

Our psychotherapist uses a mix of talk therapy, art therapy, and Somatic Experiencing® to guide clients towards feeling better, gaining insight and personal growth. These approaches enable holistic and embodied healing, helping one feel more integrated and better able to live in the present moment, receive life’s joys and face its challenges.

Shu Yin’s lived experiences with complex trauma and as a highly sensitive person, have led her to seek out integrative therapies to heal her body and mind. Through her healing journey, she seeks to bring these mind-body therapies to aid her clients on their own unique journeys.

Art therapy is a form of psychodynamic psychotherapy using art materials, the artistic process and the therapeutic relationship to embody insight and growth. One does not have to be good at art to benefit from art therapy.

Somatic Experiencing® uses the body as a resource to ground and regulate in the processing of traumatic memories. The therapist follows the client’s lead and comfort level, to guide the client to process and eventually discharge any psychosomatic stress stored in the body due to previously thwarted stress responses. This enables the completion of stress response cycle and eventually releases the person from the cycle of trauma, as part of trauma healing.

Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.

In life, we sometimes encounter situations or road blocks that evoke inner turmoil and unwanted emotions. Our unresolved issues from the past may recur, and we may observe certain patterns. We are here to listen and witness non-judgementally. By doing our own inner work and learning to see your perspective, we hope to walk beside you through difficult feelings and towards discovering your own insight.

Located close to Rochor, Bugis, Bras Basah and Bencoolen MRT, we serve adolescents and adults with a range of needs.
